Tips for A Tidy Gmail Inbox

You are lost in your inbox.
You spend hours looking for messages and a mess of folders.

A different way to manage your email is zero messages in your inbox.
How it works?

  1. Create two labels called Action and Awaiting Response.
  2. Schedule time to check your email only two or three times each day.
  3. When you check your email, read each message only once.
  4. Do one of three things. (a) If you need to do something, move the message to your Action label. (b) If someone else needs to do something, move the message to your Awaiting Response label. (c) If you don’t need to do anything, archive it.
  5. Get your to-do list by reviewing you action label.
  6. Find out who owes you stuff by checking your awaiting response label.
  7. When you’re done all that things, remove the label.
  8. If you want to find what you need, use searching function.
